Reviews
Glory of India has been featured in Calgary Herald, Calgary Sun and Your City Magazine. Here's what the folks at Glory or India want you to know plus a few great reviews from their customers:
- Indian cuisine is a combination of exquisite tastes. Flavours are as varied as the climate of India and as exotic as the people of India. Fragrant spices, pungent and warm spices, from the four corners of the country are delicately blended in meticulous proportions to create the dishes we present to you. Each dish will have its own distinctive flavour and aroma which cannot come from any Curry Powder but from spices which have to be separately prepared each day afresh for each individual dish. The blending and preparation of spices is a centuries old craft and indispensable to Indian cuisine. — Glory of India
- I really enjoyed the food. I had not been to Glory of India for dinner in a while and I will go again as it was very good. — OpenTable.com Reviewer
- Consistently among the best Indian restaurants in Calgary with good personal service by the owners. — OpenTable.com Reviewer
- I have tried ALL the Indian restaurants in Calgary and this is easily the best one! Service is great, food comes in a timely manner and the food is to die for! The best Mali Kafta you will ever, ever have, the best butter chicken, the best lamb curry dishes, and the best chicken vindaloo. And for dessert try the mango cheesecake! Your taste buds will thank you for it! — Jack, ReviewBlue.com Reviewer
- Glory of India had us at the door. The fabulous aromas of naan, curries and roasted meats were absolutely mouthwatering. We started with meat samosas for an appetizer. While they were very tasty, I found them a little too oily for me. Next came the naan bread, which was piping hot, fragrant and a delightful combination of stretchiness and crispness - perfect! Quickly the rest of our meal arrived. Butter Chicken, Lamb Rogan Josh, Malai Kofta and Daal Tarka...all good to great. My favorite was the Malai Kofta - sumptuous vegetable dumplings and paneer cooked in a rich almond and cashew nut "gravy". Yum. The Daal Tarka was a bit overpowered by cumin and a little on the flat side, but definitely worth eating. The Lamb Rogan Josh was very flavorful and robust , however, not as tender as it could be. Glory of India's Butter Chicken was extremely tender tandoori style chicken cooked in a dark but creamy tomato sauce. We will be back. — KC Foore, UrbanSpoon.com Reviewer
