About The Deal

$169 for a 2 Night Vancouver Island Coast Getaway for 2 People, Including Breakfast at Ocean Wilderness Inn (Up to $338 Value).

Lush forest, the ocean breeze and curious wildlife await you during your stay at the Ocean Wilderness Inn, overlooking the Pacific Ocean just eight miles outside of Sooke on Vancouver Island. The original cabin at the Ocean Wilderness Inn was constructed by hand in the 1940s using fallen trees from the surrounding area, instilling a local charm and quaintness to the property that is still present today. You'll love staying in the charming 1980s added guesthouse, where a number of comfortable rooms await you.

There's something for everyone at the Ocean Wilderness Inn; spend your days doing nothing but lounging on the nearby beach, located just moments from your room, or soaking in the hot tub. For the more adventurous types, spend your days exploring the local wildlife, walking the property's vast forests, or try heading over to Sooke Basin where you can rent a kayak for the day. There's no shortage of fun, exhilarating activities to partake in around the area. Sooke offers whale watching tours on the Pacific Ocean, a zip line adventure tour, a number of hiking trails and horseback riding adventures, tours of Vancouver Island's gorgeous gardens and more.

Afterward, dine at one of the many restaurants located only eight miles down the road in Sooke, before heading back to the Ocean Wilderness Inn for the evening, or shop the local produce and bring it back to the guest kitchen to whip up a delicious meal.

Indulge in an in-room massage: your choice of reiki, Swedish, reflexology and others, or visit the nearby Le Sooke Spa for an array of indulgent treatments. Later that evening, curl up with your sweetheart to watch the sunset, before returning to your room for the night. The next morning, you'll enjoy a fabulous and hearty home-cooked meal courtesy of the Ocean Wilderness Inn, which is the perfect early-morning start to the next day's adventures.

Reviews

Ocean Wilderness Inn has been given an average rating of 4.5 stars on TripAdvisor.ca. Here's what the folks at Ocean Wilderness Inn and reviewers want you to know:

  • Nearly doily-free rooms. This Sooke B and B Inn is a beguiling mix of elegant, eclectic, contempory, and rustic. Perhaps best described by the Japanese concept of wabi sabi. Attached to a 1940's hand crafted log building is the purpose-built hotel-styled lodging. All rooms with your own entrance, and private ensuite bathrooms. Coffee and tea are available 24/7. We are pleased to provide you with breakfast. Or if you prefer to be self catering, a guest kitchen is available for your use. - Ocean Wilderness Inn
  • We had such a lovely time at the Ocean Wilderness. The warmth of the hosts, Lori and Andy, was a true delight, and the inn itself is beautiful. It is NOT a rustic cabin, nor is it a hotel. It hits the perfect "sweet spot" between. We stayed in the Pacific Panorama, which has a fabulous view overlooking the ocean (but through the garden). The bathroom was lovely and had a shower, but the tub (large) was in the bedroom, with fluffy robes and huge towels. The breakfasts were not only tasty, they were clearly prepared with a lot of caring and desire to make "breaking fast" an actual experience rather than a plonking down of a few dishes and juice and hoping everyone's happy. We also had a mead tasting (mead from Tugwell Farm and delicious) with cheese and some completely yummy granola on our departure. I don't think anything was left out of it. During our 4-day stay, we came back one dark and windy night to find Lori and Andy holding storm lanterns and obviously quite concerned for our safety. They escorted us to our room, left the lantern and made sure the candle was lit. Lori came back with a flashlight and water. How very thoughtful and that's what this place is all about—thoughtfulness. - Wuzzo1, TripAdvisor.ca Reviewer
  • Stayed 4 nights in their 3 Cedars Suite and enjoyed every bit of it. Rooms are immaculate, beds were firm and comfortable, bathroom is enormous (to allow plenty of room around the jacuzzi tub). The inn is situated just off the main road so, at first, I was concerned about road noise at night. Didn't need to be. It was quiet and peaceful as can be. Hosts Lori and Andy are delightful friendly people who know how to care for their guests. Breakfasts were served family style around a beautiful old (and gigantic) wooden table and were very tasty. Pancakes with berry compote, frittata with bacon, grilled peaches with ricotta. The inn is alittle bit (8 miles?) outside Sooke so yes, you do need to go into town for other meals but there is much to see and do in that area. Excellent kayaking in Sooke Basin or its many coves and bays! Several lovely beaches where you can just sit and watch the waters of Strait of Juan de Fuca. Note: Traffic through Victoria during rush hour is terrible so, if you can time your trip to avoid it, do. Otherwise, know that it's worth it because the inn is well worth the traffic to get to. And, when you leave, Lori & Andy will give you a bag of their custom blend Trail Mix which may be the best I've ever had. - Cedars2, TripAdvisor.ca Reviewer
  • It's out of town, so you may have to do a bunch of driving around depending on outdoor activities planned (and definitely for restaurants). But this also means that right outside your room door there's a tree where bald eagles nest and a stair path to a fossil beach (mind the slugs :). There's also a pretty little garden with chairs to rest and enjoy the ocean view framed by the lush forest. In the evening we used the binoculars in the room to watch lit-up cruise ships pass by. Hosts friendly, good hosts, entertaining guests for breakfast, which was cooked and served fresh, something different every morning. - sosonica, TripAdvisor.ca Reviewer
  • Little Gem hidden out of town but well worth the drive. Nice walk down to the beach, clean, comfortable beds and the best breakfasts. EVER!!! I will be back. - kimsw, TripAdvisor.ca Reviewer
