My husband and I wanted to get away for two days and relax. We got to meet wonderful people, eat awesome food and relax. Peter and Irene made us truly feel like family and were wonderful in sharing their home, property and I even got to enjoy helping to feed the horses. This B&B is definitely a guest home and has the unique advantage of private bathrooms. We will definitely return.

We stayed at Hillview Haven for one weekend and we had such a great time - regret not staying longer! They asked us in advance our food preferences and what rooms we want -African, British, Asian. Upon our arrival, they were so welcoming and friendly. We had the freedom to do what we choose - pool, enjoy the view, see their horses, etc. It was a beautiful and relaxing place - more than what we expected.

Hillview Haven is the perfect country getaway with a stunning hilltop view of Rice Lake! The house is immaculately clean and beautifully decorated. My husband and I spent two nights in the African Room and dreamt of safari adventures in our four poster bed. Peter and Irene were fantastic hosts! By the time we left it felt as if we were leaving a friend's home. The meals, with a little British twist, were delicious, especially for my husband who is a British expat. As an avid swimmer the pool at Hillview Haven was heavenly and even it has an amazing view of the Lake. We highly recommend a trip to Hillview Haven! We will certainly be returning with friends and family!

We visited Peter and Irene after a wedding over the Canada day holiday weekend. We had a wonderful and relaxing time at their place, their conversation is engaging and friendly and the rooms are very comfortable and fun. The biggest surprise was the very high quality of the food at Hillview, my wife is a vegetarian and often if we book a place that includes meals, she gets poor quality food that is made as an afterthought. Peter took time and care to make delicious vegetarian food that was much better than would be expected. Overall this is a fantastic place to spend a couple of days getting away from it all, and I would highly recommend it.

The house is beautiful, the view spectacular, and Irene and Peter are like good friends in how they ensure that your stay is simply perfect. We stayed in the British room, which had a beautiful view over their 40 acres (over the fields and their horses, with a superb view of the sunset and the lake). The meals were delicious and the ambiance congenial. The other guests that were with us, joined us on the beautiful porch/deck for the sunset and we all talked with each other until late at night. We will definitely make this a recurring visit, and can't wait to return!
