So why the four stars? For the nails. I get my acrylics done here and only here, and have tried numerous other salons throughout both Vancouver and Victoria. I've had acrylics since I was fourteen, so I can't tell a shitty nail job from a mile away, and these girls are GOOD. I've never had any of my nails break here and they rarely (if ever) chip. I tend to be kind of lazy with mine and often leave them on for four weeks at a time. Aside from the new growth, they still look pretty damn good when I go in for my fills. Also - the price can't be beat. No where else will you get a fill in Vancouver for $18. That is a redonk good deal, particularly when the nails are done this well. They also have a great deal for mani-pedi's and a great selection of colour. This place is my go to to get my nails did, and it's getting better all the time. Ignore the less than appealing look from the street. Trust me, you'll be glad you did.

I had a fantastic pedicure here, and had the place to myself from 10-11am on a Saturday. There are six big cushy massage chairs, so had a nice massage and multi-tasked between checking emails, reading and watching TV. My feet were a mess from ignoring them for the past few months, so I was expecting the treatment to be somewhat uncomfortable. Totally the opposite...she was so gentle, I barely noticed her working away on my feet. The foot and calf massage was sooo lovely. The other Orchid location is usually packed and cramped but since this one is new (I think it opened in the fall of 2011), it's spacious and very clean. And quiet! At least on Sat morning. You really can't beat the value for the money here - $20 pedi! All the staff are very friendly (unlike some other places I've been too...).

Their Broadway location is super clean, bright, and just more inviting. For a place that's just off of Commercial Drive, it was not busy during our visit, so it worked out in our favour. I brought my mom for her first mani/pedi ever, because I was getting married soon, and I thought it'd be a nice treat for her. Since I already got a pedi at their Kingsway location, I was there for a french manicure. The nail tech stepped up their A-game as soon as I mentioned wedding. The only thing that didn't go up was their price :) The service was great, and they had a large selection of colours (even have Shellac gel colours). The chairs were brand new, and they have a large flat screen for you to look at while sitting in your massage chair and getting your nails did. The owner, Anna Ly, was so hospitable. She befriended my mom, and her friendly personality was consistent at both locations. I was really happy about my french manicure. It lasted a full two weeks, and I would definitely recommend going there for nail services.
