We loved this place! Took a drive out to Sooke from Victoria last Saturday and came upon the Little Vienna Bakery Cafe. Great name and it was lunchtime so we stopped in. The place was pretty busy and smelled great inside... freshly baked bread! We were pleasantly surprised at the variety of desserts, coffees, breads and lunch specials. We had the Roasted Red Pepper Soup, Chili, Napoli sandwich, Vienna sandwich, two latte's, a chocolate schnecke and a kaiser kuchen. The food was amazing and we actually met the new owners, Michael and Susan. We were happy to hear everything is made fresh from scratch everyday and were impressed with their moderate pricing. The staff were very friendly and we ended up buying a loaf of their Siciliano bread and block of St Andre cheeze for the ride home.... ok, we also bought a couple more Schnecke's for the ride home too! People in Sooke are lucky to have this place and we will definitely drive out from Victoria just to eat at this place again!

Motorcyclists must stop here! Last Saturday I decided to take advantage of the gorgeous weather and enjoy the scenic motorcycle trip from Victoria to Duncan to Port Renfrew, down through Jordan River, Sooke and then back to Victoria. When passing through Sooke I decided to stop at the Little Vienna Bakery and Cafe for a coffee and some dessert, as I had heard from friends of mine that this was a MUST STOP place for motorcyclists. Why motorcyclists? Well, mainly because it has a big paved parking lot easily accessed right on main street, but also because the owners (Michael and Susan) are motorcyclists themselves... bikers supporting bikers! This is a great bakery where they make everything fresh each day and you can buy all kinds of breads, buns, cheeses, desserts and specialty coffees. They also serve a really great soup and sandwich-type lunch. Anyways, I ordered a double espresso and had one of their lemon pound cakes, and sat out on their deck and enjoyed the sights and sounds of Sooke. On my way out, I gave a big thumbs up to a couple of other motorcyclists that were just pulling in. I'll definitely be back to the Little Vienna Bakery and Cafe next time I'm in Sooke.

Delicious pastry, pleasant service. A friend recently brought me here after having passed it by many times. The pastry was delicious, the coffee fine and the atmosphere and service pleasant. We were told that they were closed on Sundays. Too bad, because that would be the one day we would usually take a drive that direction. I plan to return again. The breads looked delicious, too.
